Supplements. What are you using?

Ahh sookie, sookie now. I'm posting twice in one day. That means that I'll probably not post again for another week and a half. *le sigh* It bees like that sometimes.

Anyway, I wanted to talk about supplements because they can be über helpful. So what am I taking? I'm glad you asked.  You wanna hear it, here it goes:

Pre-workout/Early AM
Thermovex
Stance: Lipotropic

Workout
BCAA

Post-Workout
ISO-100 Hydrolyzed Whey Protein Isolate
Glumatic glutamine

With Meals
Multivitamin
Omega 3-6-9
Lipocor
Detoxin (poop support)
Cosamin ASU (joint support)

Evening Workout
Metabolic Spike
Stance: Lipotropic

Sleep
Thermovex PM or Metaburn
Iso-100 Hydrolyzed Whey Protein Isolate
Glumatic

Yes...I take all of that at some time during the day. Sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. Let me go through them one by one.

Thermovex by Evochem Nutrition is my nigga. I don't typically use that word, but doggone if it don't have my back when I need it to. It gives me that little extra push before I even require it. It makes for a FANTASTIC pre-workout mix and it doesn't taste too bad; however, I do have to provide a bit of a warning. If you have caffeine sensitivities, you will wish you were dead if you take this formula. It is INTENSE. Like, you might need to go to the ER because it'll have you feeling like you are stuck on a PCP high. You absolutely need to work your way up to a full dose of this and ALWAYS take it with some food. One-half of a protein bar is enough to help pad your stomach to keep this drink from burning a hole through it. LOL! The first time I took it, I took a full scoop and chugged it on an empty stomach. I literally prayed for deliverance because I was jacked up for the entire day. Eating didn't alleviate the feeling of intense vertigo and napping was out of the question. It felt like my head would spin right off my neck and down the block when I closed my eyes. I had to hold my head the entire day. It was THEEEEE worst. I would rather have a bad hangover than go through that again. Yeah, it's that intense, but I'm a fan of it and I doubt that I'll try anything else...at least for now.

Lipotropic by Stance is something I mix with my pre-workout to help release fat to be used for fuel during my cardio sessions. It mixes well with the Thermovex, but is tasty enough to be taken on its own. The above video goes into pretty good detail as to why this is so great to use.

I have a large jug of ForzaOne BCAA Sport in the most God-awful flavor available, but hey...it is what it is. I don't take it for the taste, I take it to help maintain muscle mass while I do my HIIT workouts. They are intense and since I'm in the cutting phase of my journey, I don't want to lose muscle mass and I need to recover quickly so I can pop back up and do what I need to do again. You can either take your BCAA's maybe about 15 min prior to your workout or during your workout, but you want to take it well before the end of it so your body can utilize it when needed.

Glumatic is your post-workout buddy. It's going to help with recovery so that you can 1. recover faster and 2. not just tear your muscles down. Mixed with the protein of your choice, this should ALWAYS be part of your post-workout regimen. Like the video says, most people don't want to eat a big meal right after a workout, so instead, drink your protein in order to quickly give your muscles the support they need.

Depending on the severity of your workouts, you may want to consider mixing your glutamine and your protein and having that as your bedtime snack. I will do an article on the importance of eating and the timing of your meals, but for now just know that your body can and will efficiently utilize that protein shot if you take it at bed time and it will thank you in the morning in the form of fewer muscle aches.

As for protein, there's plenty out there, but I opt for ISO-100 because it tastes *in my Tony the Tiger voice* GRRRRRREEAAAATTT! Also, because it's super clean and goes straight to your muscles. There's a review listed above and those fools are clearly clownin', but you get the gist of what I'm trying to say. The protein is clean and it tastes great. That's all you really need to know.

Metabolic Spike is just another pre-workout option you can take that'll help burn fat while you're doing your cardio. It is completely caffeine free so you can take it in the evening without fear of having the shakes in the middle of the night. The taste is just okay. For me, it's a little strong so I end up having to mix it with a bit more water than what is recommended in the instructions.

Here's a supplement I take with my meals. It will not cause fat loss on it's own; however, it will help support functions that lead to fat loss. When you have 100lbs+ to lose, every little thing helps. As you can see, the product contains CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) and that has been reported to support the formation and maintenance of lean muscle (something that will help increase your basal metabolic rate), support healthy weight loss and promote exercise recovery. A cheaper and just as effective alternative would be to just get straight up Tonalin CLA.  That is something I plan to do once my bottle of Lipocor runs out. About 7-8g of CLA is needed to be effective per day. You can get this in grass-fed cattle, but if you're like me and eat very little beef, then your daily CLA dosage will be lacking.

Last, but not least is my nighttime formula. This is going to be short because I'm tired and ready to go to bed, but I didn't want to neglect this. Burning fat at night is just as important as buring during the day so this may be a good option for those that have a lot to lose. This product should help with sleep and sleep is key to not only weight loss, but overall health. Caution though...this taste like a bag of assholes and if anyone tells you differently they are either delusional or are purposely intent on setting you up for failure. I literally hold my breath, chug it down and then get a chaser because it takes so nasty. Not like cherry medicine nasty, but like bad life choices nasty. Just ugh. Drink it as cold as possible or it'll taste like hot assholes and no one wants that.

I hope this was helpful. While putting this together, I learned some things. Unfortunately, I've retained none of it, but at least I know where to go to refresh my knowledge stores.

Be good y'all.
